vera

Page history last edited by vera 2 yrs ago
My name is Vera, what (surely ) means something very important in Italian. As I know that clothes labelled with "vera pelle" are expensive and that ordinary hand cream made with 0,000103 % Aloe Vera costs the double, I suppose to have some mysterious (because, so far, unknown to everyone including me) qualities.
I come from Aachen, a city with a very interesting peculiarity. No, forget all that stuff about Charlemagne, desired capital of Napoleon and so on!                                                                                                                          I'm talking about the automobile insurance, which is nearly 15% higher than the average in Germany. For once, I have nothing to do with that; the cause is the fact that Aachen is only three kilometres from Belgium,a nice little country is worth mentioning for different reasons:                                                                                                They have more breweries than Germany;                                                                                                          the unemployment rate is about 4% (at least in the German-speaking part);                                                            their vehicle assurance is voluntary;                                                                                                                  they have the highest rate of accidents in Europe, tied with Greece.                                                         Indeed, I do see a correlation between two of the facts... But concerning the accidents, Belgium invented the driving licence in 1967 - and I say driving licence, not driving test! You just had to ask the civil service, and you got it. The first tests came in the middle of the 70's (France had the test in 1893, Germany in 1906).
The following diagram shows the number of dead or injured people due to road traffic accidents per million citizens for different countries in different years. The numbers are taken from the European Health Data Base.

1970, before the invention of the driving test, Belgium had twice as many injured or dead per million people than the rest of Europe. The number got better with increasing safety actions, but it stayed nevertheless the double of the rest of Europe. Maybe there's more than one correlation in my list above.                              (I added the UK to the diagram because I thought you folks might like the fact that there's ONE thing where you are better than the roastbeefs...)

Ok, enough mocking of other countries - you visited this site to laugh at me, not at the poor Belgians. So here's a complete and certificated (ISO 92001) description of me:

My favorite colour is dark grey with red edges, my favorite word is "whatever", my favorite place is wherever if drunken, and my dream has always been to study materials sciences in Saint-Etienne to develop something against these fuckin headaches every morning or at least become a manager in pharmacy. I don't like aluminium, dried banana chips, already knowing what comes next, the colour blue and being flattered that having a strong personality is so much more attractive than physical beauty.

This foto shows me as hidden design - my favorite art style.

To find out more about my other favorites, just join me to the Absinth Bar or check the following hotlist :

Of course, I'm not responsible for the contents of these sites. I can't understand it; they really wheren't like that when I placed them.

I guess they've been changed afterwards.

Whatever.
